Halloween

This was Simon's first year to really participate in Halloween. Sure, last year we did all the same things, but last year he sat in his exo-saucer watching Baby Einstein while we carved the pumpkin, he wore his costume for approximately 10 minutes before pulling the hat off, and he didn't eat any candy since he only had one tooth. This year, he learned how to really appreciate a holiday dedicated to eating piles of candy.

Strangely enough, Simon wasn't too into the pumpkin goo, but he did help by smacking the pumpkin with the goo scraper and then moving on to use the scraper on my head.

Even without Simon's help, I think our pumpkin turned out nicely, though those pumpkin pattern kits sure do take a lot longer than making triangle eyes (which we will probably do next year).

This year, Simon dressed up as a lion (it's great that most little boy costumes are naturally warm. ) I think he was confused as to why we were putting a large ball of fur on his head, but he did enjoy growling.

This was Simon's first year trick-or-treating, so we only went to four houses.

All-in-all, I think Simon is starting to understand the concept of Halloween, though this is probably my last year of getting to choose his costume for him.

I wonder if all small lions like to play with cars....

Cute! It won't be long before he has way more trick-or-treating endurance than you do and you will be out much much longer than you want to be.

Cute little lion! Well, he's cute anyways but the lion costume does help! :)
